UCA is proud to offer in-person Clifton Park dog training in New York. Our Team’s expertise allows us to customize learning curriculums to fit your dog’s needs, as well as educate you, as the dog owner, to create a better relationship between you and your dog!
UCA’s Training Packages include a combination of private lessons and group lessons, ensuring that you have the base knowledge from your private lessons to take your training skills into a real life, controlled (and safe!) setting to practice around a variety of distractions in our group classes. This combination of building foundational skills prior to adding distractions is the key to success. Private Training Packages are designed for dogs of all ages, though for puppies specifically, we have plans that are designed to teach you and your dog the fundamentals of obedience and relationship building. The earlier you begin training the better, though puppies must be at least 14 weeks old and have the required vaccinations prior to your first lesson. Your puppy will learn the basic commands such as heel, sit, stay, down and place, as well as an introduction to recall and manners, such as no jumping and no biting. As an owner, you’ll learn about proper dog handling and dog behavior, how to deliver commands, and use reward and praise.
Available as a 3, 4 or 5-week session, Board & Train is essentially a training camp for your dog. He or she will stay with us at our facility in Clifton Park and benefit from specialized training with professionals in a controlled setting, as well as off-site training in realistic environments.
We customize each Board & Train program depending on your goals and your dog’s needs, which can include basic beginner obedience, off-leash training, behavior modification and more. The goal is to develop a dog who is obedient, confident and can follow commands with anyone, anywhere.
Behavior Modification is the most sought-after training we offer. Our individualized approach to behavioral issues has allowed us to help owners and their dogs with reactivity, resource guarding, anxiety, and even dog and human aggression. In fact, we regularly work with dogs who have a bite history. Our proven methods put an emphasis on owner education, and our team’s extensive canine behavioral knowledge and experience allow us to adjust tactics and strategy as we progress with each dog and owner.
